Letter challenge Day 9 – someone I’d like to meet
Click here for the challenge rules/explanation if you want to join in.
Dear Person/People who designed the car I drive:
Really? To get to the water pump to replace it when it goes out, you have to remove the timing belt and 2 other parts? But then when you get those three things off and finally reach the water pump, and you remove some of the bolts holding it in, there’s another bolt, one big GIANT bolt, that you can’t reach the top of to unbolt it UNLESS YOU TAKE THE MOTOR OUT???????? Or cut the bolt off from the other side????
O RLY Car-designer-people?!?!?!?!
Oh that’s ok, the water pump is finally replaced after two weeks of borrowing my daughter’s car to get to work. But then, I was driving home from work in my own car, finally, and smoke just starter billowing out of the dash, right behind the control panel for the air. By the time I was able to safely exit the interstate and turn the car off, the interior was filled with smoke. After opening the doors to let the smoke out and popping the hood to make sure something in there wasn’t on fire, and finding the tools my husband happened to leave in there for me, and unscrewing the outer panel over the air control, and then unscrewing that thing, and then hitting the back of it fiercely with the sweater that I found in the backseat to extinguish the tiny flames that were burning the circuit panel, everything was ok. Except of course now I have no air and am driving home from work in 100 degree weather at 2 p.m. each day. But really, that is OK.
Thanks a lot jerk(s)! If I could meet you I’d beat you up.
Me.

My Challenge Day 9 letter is posted but you’ve already commented and yours is way funnier than mine.
LOL… that’s a great letter!
HAHAHAHAHA! Girl did you go out to Birdtown and talk Wayne Lewis out of my old Ford Tempo?
LMFAO! no but maybe it’s one Wayne Lewis sold me!
Holy hell…I just went to have my battery checked because it was not working, and found out the idiots charged me for a new battery and NEVER REPLACED IT. GAH!!!
Mine for today:

ASS WIPES
Mel, *sigh* ANd I thought I had it bad having to remove the starter (with one invisible bolt that I needed a special tool just to reach and loosen) to get to a (still invisible) crankshaft position sensor so I could replace that one lil $20 part. I’ll not complain about my car’s engineers again.
Aggie, I think most folks have had similar experiences. My worst have been with car dealers (back in my young and foolish days when I thought, “Well surely they’d have the best training, tools, parts and experience for my model”). One kept a car of mine a month past when the work I’d authorized had been done (though I called at least weekly to check up on progress) and did completely UNauthorized work they wanted to charge me for, and only finally told me they’d finished the work I HAD authorized when I went in personally and complained about their service with other customers standing by. THEN they tried to charge me for the work I’d NOT authorized (which was caused by actual damage they had done AFTER they had finished the authorized work!). *heh* Several (potential?) customers left during the ensuing “discussion” and I got my car back with NO charges after threatening to sue them for fraud, while waiving the bill around and asking waiting customers if they knew what the dealership was doing or going to do to their cars and also asking–loudly–to use their phone so I could call the cops on them.
Damned crooks.
YES CROOKS!!!!!!!
And day 10, I think. They are starting to blur…
